RUSSIA - The Federation of Russia (Russia: Росси́йская Федера́ция, also transliterated: Rossiyskaya Federatsiya,) about this sound listen (help · info), or Russia (Russia: Росси́я, Rossiya; also transliterated: Tatar language: Рәсәй), is a country with vast stretches of East Europe and Northern Asia. With an area of 17.075.400 km², Russia is the largest country in the world. Its area approximately twice the area of people's Republic of China (China, REPUBLIC of CHINA), Canada, or the United States. Its population ranks seventh in the world after the people's Republic of China, India, the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, and Pakistan.

This country used to be the largest state at the time of the Soviet Union. Russia is a major beneficiary of the Soviet Union; the country inherited a 50% population, 2/3 of the total area, and approximately 50% of the economic assets and guns.

  • The Valley Of Geysers


The Valley of geysers in Kamchatka Peninsula located within Russia, is the world's second largest geysers. The Valley of geysers is discovered by Tatyana Ustinova, local scientists in 1941.   • St. Basil's Cathedral


An Orthodox Church of Russia set up in red square in Moscow in 1555-1561. It was built by the order of Ivan the Terrible to commemorate the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan, it marks the geometric center of the city and the center of growth since the fourteenth century. In addition to being at the heart of the city, this church is one of the favourite tourist destination in Moscow, and is famous for its unique architecture, resembling a bonfire blazing.

The Museum was founded by Katherine the great in 1764. It is one of the famous attractions in St Petersburg. This magnificent museum building saving about three million works of art and cultural heritage. Inside the Hermitage museum complex also contains six historic buildings, one of which was the Winter Palace which used to be the residence of the Romanovs, the Tsar of Russia.
