PARIS (PERANCIS) - Paris (pronunciation:/pærɨs ˈ in United Kingdom  is the capital city of France. Located on the river Seine, in Northern France, at the heart of the Île-de-France region (also known as the "Paris Region"; in French: Région parisienne). The city of Paris in its administrative limits (unchanged since 1860) has a population of 2.167.994 inhabitants (January 2006). the Paris Unité urbaine (or urban area) extends beyond the administrative city limits and has an estimated population of 9.93 million (2005). the Paris Aire urbaine (or metropolitan area) has a population of nearly 12 million people, and is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in Europe.

An important settlement for more than two millennia, Paris is today one of the leading business and cultural centres in the world, and the mix of politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science and the arts all help her status as one of the world's largest global city. the Paris Region (Île-de-France) is Europe's biggest city economy, and the fifth largest in the world's list of cities by GDP. With € 500.8 billion (US $ 628.9 billion), it produces a quarter of the gross domestic product (GDP) of France in 2006. the Paris Region hosts 38 of the Fortune Global 500 companiesin several business districts, notably La Défense, the largest purpose-built business district in Europe. Paris also hosts many international organizations such as UNESCO, OECD, ICC and the Paris Club.


Paris is the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with 30 million foreign visitors per year. there are a number of well-known landmarks among the various institutions for the attraction, along with the famous and most popular parks in the world.

Paris is located in a bend of the Seine River toward the North and consists of two islands, Île Saint-Louis and the Île de la Cité, which form the oldest part of the city. Overall, the city is relatively flat, and the lowest point is 35 m (115 ft) above sea level. Paris has several prominent hills, of which the highest is Montmartre at 130 m (426 ft).

Paris, excluding the outer Park of Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes, covers an oval outlying square kilometres (33.56 square miles). From the 1860 area of 78 km² (30.1 sq mi), the city limits extends into 54.0 km² (34 sq mi) in the 1920s. Forest Park in 1929 the Bois de Boulogne and Bois de Vincennes was officially included in the city, expanding its territory into a 105.397 km² (40.69 sq mi).

  • Eiffle Tower

who is not familiar with the Eiffel Tower? The building was ever entered in the list of "7 Wonders of the world" this is one of the tourist destinations that are often visited by the tourists when visiting Paris.   • Arc de Triomphe

Another famous Landmark of Paris. The monument-shaped building named Arc de Triomphe. The Arc de Triomphe was built by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806 in honour of the merits of soldiers who had fought for the French victory. Arc de Triomphe also known as victory gate and is located in the western part of the territory of Champ-Elysee.
  • Place de la Concorde

As the capital, Paris is also equipped with a square of the breadth of reach 86.400 meters. The square was named Place de la Concorde was built in 1755. Place de la Concorde is very famous for its monuments and fountains.
